Chipotle Hummus

Chipotle Hummus


  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled
  • one 16 ounce can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon tahini (sesame seed paste)
  • ¼ cup chipotle flavoured olive oil plus additional for drizzling
    (note:  you can substitute regular extra-virgin olive oil if desired)
  • salt and pepper, to taste


  1. Put the garlic into the bowl of a food processor and blitz for a few seconds until chopped.
  2. Add all other ingredients except olive oil and blitz for about a minute.
  3. With the machine running, slowly add olive oil in a steady stream, until smooth.
  4. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
